IMPORTANT UPDATE! Train discount code only applies when booked on the 12th October, it can’t be used online/by phone. My apologies.
Here are the details for the first Welsh/Cymraeg HubNut Meet! If you wish to attend, please email Ian via ian@hubnut.org so we can keep tabs of numbers.
12th October
Vale of Rheidol Railway. Meet 10am Aberystwyth. Train departs at 10:30. Get a 10% discount on your ticket by quoting HubNut ON THE DAY ONLY. Ian will drive up separately to be at Devil’s Bridge station when the train gets in (1130hrs) with as many of the fleet as can be mustered (ie are working). Enjoy the steam-hauled ride!
The train returns to Aberystwyth at 12:30pm. Food may well be consumed.
Speaking of which, you can pre-order your food from Two Hoots Cafe – advisable as it may well be busy!
Menu below.
Contact the cafe via: 07779 450735 or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/twohootsdevilsbridge/
Contact the railway on 01970 625819 or visit https://www.rheidolrailway.co.uk
No further activities are planned, but chatting is likely to occur and there will be HubNut merchandise available.
On Sunday 13th October, Ian will be visiting the Internal Fire Museum near Cardigan. It’s a full running day, so bring your motor along and take in the fascinating display of enormous engines. The steam room should be in operation. There’s even a working telephone exchange room.
Doors open at 10:30 and Ian plans to be there about then. Visit https://www.internalfire.com/ for pricing and further information. No HubNut merchandise at this one. It’s just a visit.
If you plan to stop over, the nearest campsites to Devil’s Bridge are https://woodlandsdevilsbridge.co.uk/ and https://www.erwbarfe.co.uk/cms/ (Er-oo-bar-vay)both run by lovely local families. Aberystwyth and the surrounding area has many hotels, including a Premier Inn. The George Borrow Hotel in Ponterwyd is generally well-reviewed and not too costly. Please note – these are two day events. No evening plans have been made, so you’re free to explore the local area.
Eateries worth visiting include the Halfway Inn at Pisgah and Y Ffarmers at Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn.
I hope that’s of some help.
Ian

Always ensure the lever is not seized , so they are applying the correct force.
Before swapping – remove the grease off the windscreen , they are designed to move water, and water only 🙂
